Creart was created in 2006 with the aim of supporting and giving a voice to the most vulnerable children within the framework of human rights. Since then we have provided psychosocial support to hundreds of children through art and transformative education.
We work within a framework of education for global justice, education for peace and social transformation, gender equity, the defence of human rights and universal citizenship, the environment and humanitarian action.
International sphere:
We work in areas of the Middle East, Africa and Latin America with different programmes: through educational projects with the most vulnerable children and their educators; psychosocial accompaniment programmes with refugees (especially women); and programmes that strengthen communities. We use art in a therapeutic way with groups dealing with the consequences of war and conflict, natural disasters and other extreme situations.
Local level:
We work within the framework of education for global justice and education for peace in our country to foster critical awareness that promotes socially active and transformative attitudes. In the framework of transformative education we find tools to face conflicts in a positive, pedagogical way, to promote creativity, confidence, self-esteem, respect for others and conscious and active participation.
Our projects take the form of creative workshops with children and young people, as well as the training of school and high school teachers, leisure educators and social workers in order to disseminate and provide new tools in child psychosocial care, artistic education and a culture of peace.
